You guys! Guess what! Fall is almost here!
The weather is getting cooler, football season has started (Go Bucks!), I'm wearing jeans and hoodies on the daily, and there is pumpkin flavored everything (seriously…everything…yikes.)
So while Autumn doesn't officially start until September 23rd, I am certainly in the spirit already and my calendar is filling up with lots of cool stuff to look forward to this season.
1. Pattern Camp with Jessica Swift
Ahh! I have been looking forward to this for SO LONG! When she first announced that she was launching a pattern design course a few months ago I jumped right on to her waiting list!
Jessica is an incredibly talented designer and someone I've looked up to for many years now, both as an artist and as a business owner (she's killing it, ya'll!). I took advantage of her early bird pricing and, since I was one of the first 15 to sign up (I told you I was excited!) I snagged the opportunity to have a one-on-one portfolio review from Miss Swift herself. Ah-mazing!
While the early bird period is over, there are still spots available. If you want to join the fun and learn the art of making patterns, hop over to her website and check out all the details!
2. Simply Vague Polaris Re-Opening
New Product Labels ready to be added to prints and products for Simply Vague stores!
Product Display at Simply Vague
As you may already know, Buck And Libby products can be found at the Simply Vague stores in Columbus at Tuttle Mall and in Dayton at The Greene. A few months ago, the Polaris Mall location in Columbus had to shut down temporarily as it prepared for a new, permanent location within the mall!
Well, we are super excited to announce that the grand re-opening of the Polaris Mall location is scheduled for October 15th, just in time for the holiday season! Better get crackin' on prepping my products!
If you know of any retail shops that may want to feature Buck And Libby products in their shop, I encourage you to tell them about us! We're always open to wholesale and consignment opportunities!
3. Preparing for Holiday Craft Shows
Last year's holiday ornaments

As usual, this year is gearing up to be a super busy holiday season! We've got lots of events already on the calendar (you can find them all over on the events page) and fun holiday-themed products in the brainstorming stages. While these are more Wintery events, the Fall season is when the magic happens and the busy little elves (aka Me) get everything in order so the show season goes smoothly. Ready, set, go!
4. But first--VACAY!
Beach toes!
Lighthouse at Manteo, NC
One of the perks of owning your own business, and of having no school-aged kids to worry about, is that timing a vacation is a bit more flexible. My husband, Kyle, and I like to take our beach vacations in the early Fall when the summertime tourist rush is over, the weather is a bit more mild, but the ocean is still pretty warm.
We like to go to the Outer Banks every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary (October 5th) and have fallen in love with a little town called Manteo, which is basically Mayberry by the sea. Don't be surprised if we go one year and never return…
5. My Birthday
I'm compiling a list of great non-profit and charity organizations! What are your favorites? Send them along, please!
Ohhhsnap…. It's the big 3-0! Bye bye twenties (*tear*) and hello to a whole new decade! My birthday is right around the corner on October 29th and I'm still deciding how I want to celebrate. I know I want to do something a little different from the usual Birthday Sale with regard to my shop and I do have some ideas up my sleeve, but won't make any announcements until closer to the date.
In the meantime, I'd love your feedback! I'm making a list of great charity organizations and non-profits that are extra-worthy of donations and support. List them in the comments or send them to me directly… I'd love to hear them!
