B&L Status Update

A quick update on what's been going on in my world...

1. New Ohio State Products

As an ode to my Alma Mater, and for all my Columbus friends and fans, I added two new designs to my line featuring OSU and the buckeyes! These will be in the shop soon and are available as greeting cards and frameable prints. If you're a Columbus native, you can find them in the Simply Vague stores by the end of the month!

2. Lilla Roger's Make Art That Sells E-Course, Part B

As you may recall, I participated in an AWESOME e-course over the summer taught by art agent extraordinaire, Lilla Rogers, filled with so much learning my head nearly exploded. Well, I'm back at it again with the second part of the e-course which began October 5th! Each week focuses on a different market in the art licensing industry and each week has a different assignment given to us in the form of a "creative brief".

The first week's market was the Paper market and our assignment was to create a holiday greeting card featuring ornaments and/or candy. Greeting cards and paper are right up my alley but I did something a little different and doodled using a thick sharpie, as opposed to the thin ones I normally use. I really like the dark, bold black lines it created in the final product! You'll find this ornament pattern on greeting cards in the Buck & Libby Etsy shop soon!

Week two (this week) looked at the Baby Apparel market and our assignment was to create artwork for a baby with the camping theme. I can't even tell you just how much fun I had with this assignment! The adorable little fox, drawing from my history as a Girl Scout, incorporating merit badges in the coordinate pattern, the whole process was a joy! Can't wait to see what's next...

3. Sweet Surrender Sugar Detox

If you don't know Lacy Young yet, you need to hop over to her website right now and get acquainted because she is fabulous! She is a health coach, a bundle of positive energy and encouragement, and the teacher behind the e-course, "Sweet Surrender: A 10-Day Sugar Detox". I'm on Day 8 of the 10-day course and I feel fantastic!

The biggest challenge has been overcoming the craving for sweet, flavored coffee drinks especially during this time of year when something warm and cozy always sounds great (ooooh salted carmel mocha, how you tempt me so!), but I've swapped the sugar for some peppermint tea and things have been going well. I've lost a few lbs, have much more energy, my skin is clearer, and I'm more mindful of what I eat.

She's offering the course again in December! For more info. or to sign up, visit the course page here: Sweet Surrender Sugar Detox
